Family Time and Mud Run

I love visits and especially ones which involve our family!  Chad and Madison came up in October for a long weekend and we had a blast spending time with them.  Emma Claire was so excited to spend time with Madison and even Uncle Chad!

Mom and Madison prepared a tea (apple juice) with treats and Emma Claire was excited.  The girls had their tea time in real tea cups and enjoyed every moment of it.
We then went out to eat on Saturday night at Chuy's and enjoyed a nice visit to the train yard to see Matt before they had to head back to GA on Sunday.
Love these two!!!!!

Since I've been told I'll do any race for a t-shirt, Jake (my bro-in-law) signed us us for a Zombie/Mud run.  It was a beautiful day to get down and muddy.  We had a blast and I lost my flags to the Zombies within the first 1/2 mile of the race.  Ended up with a few bruises on my legs from the water slide down a hill which I ran into one of our teammates and some rocks.  All in all, we had a good time and doing another 5K this weekend, however it will just be a regular run and obviously a free t-shirt will be involved.

After and look, we are ALL still smiling!!!

Hope everyone is enjoying the Thanksgiving season and I'm staying true to my word and will not decorate for Christmas until after we clear the table of our Thanksgiving meal!

#TBT (Throw Back Thursday)

I do not typically participate in these types of postings, however since EC was so cute (at least we think so) in all of her Halloween costumes.....

WEE School Fall Party

Today was Emma Claire's fall party at WEE school and she had a blast.  A couple of weeks ago, we made a visit to Target to get treat bags and goodies for her friends as well as let her pick out her costume.  She had been telling us for weeks she wanted to be Cinderella.  This year was so much fun as she actually wanted to pick out a costume and it was so cute watching her decision making skills in action.  She saw the Cinderella costume and was ecstatic UNTIL she turned around and saw all of her most favorite Disney character costumes.  Talk about costume overload for this girl!

Once she laid her eyes on Minnie Mouse it was over.  We purchased it and hung it in the laundry room until last night.  I had her try it on and she LOVED it (actually that is the understatement of the week).  EC did not want to remove the costume, however I assured her, she would be wearing it today to her party and she could barely contain her excitement!

I took her to school today and stayed while they trick and treated the church office and the other classes at WEE School.  She had a blast and enjoyed giving out the candy to the other kids when they came by her classroom.

All in all, she had a good day, came home early with me from her party and has been upstairs napping.  It's exhausting being Minnie Mouse.

4 months....and Finally and Update

Well since I have not blogged in 4 months, I'll just start back in July and I'm giving fair warning, this is going to be a blog of mostly pics with what we have been up to.  I'm sure everyone who actually still checks us out would much rather see pics of what we have been up to versus a lengthy read.

Celebrated Christin's birthday at MayDay in the 'boro!  Always a wonderful time and friend.  I love when we get together, it seems like we pick up where we left off.  Love this lady to the moon and back!
Towards the end of July, we went to Georgia to see Chad and Madison!  EC is starting to warm up to her Uncle Chad finally and it's only taken 3 years!  She love Madison and imitates everything Madison does.
EC loves going to the train yard to see Daddy and any chance we get, we take advantage of it.  I do believe she could watch those trains all day.
August was our annual NICU birthday party at Baptist (or whatever they have now named it....still Baptist to me).  She loved seeing every one and especially......
Cohen, her NICU buddy as well as.....
Bennett!!!
Heather, me, Larry and Jake

We rounded out August with a Glow Run....this run supported the Middle TN Autism Society and we ran in honor of two special boys who we hold near and dear to our hearts....Trice and Cameron, we love and support you two!
Mom, Emma Claire and I headed our annual User Group meeting and this year it was in Denver.  We had some free time on Saturday, so Mom and I took Emma Clarie to the local Children's Museum.  We had a nice time and ended up spending time playing at the park they had outside too.
Tracy, Daniel, me and Emma Claire enjoying the views during our Cortex User Group Night Out at the Buffalo Bill Museum
Could not have asked for a better evening for our event.
We rounded out September enjoying the Zoo during CSX Family Day.  It was a beautiful day and EC could not stop telling us about all of the animals see saw or wanted to see.
She loved the Flamingos!
Larry, me, Jake and Brian

Started October with a nice 5K in White House, The 11th Annual Pumpkin run and we had a blast.
Sharon, Carrie and me

It has been nice to catch up with old friends.  We all ran a 5K two weeks prior in the rain (hence the no pic of it) and decided to run this one too.  We definitely had a blast and hopefully next year we will be lucky and win some of those fantastic raffle prizes they were giving away!
Nothing to keep me away from kayaking...(enter sarcasm). I really thought the rain would clear off, dang weather people.   We made the best of it and kayaked almost 8 miles in 2.5 hours.  About half-way through the trip, I had taken off my rain gear since I was getting hot and it actually did stop raining to only have a rapid downpour to which my brother law likened to the scene in the movie 'The Notebook'.  Only if I could be so lucky to be in my kayak with Ryan Gosselin would that comment be appropriate.
And Finally, we are caught up with the fun happenings of the Warren Family.  Mom and I took Emma Claire to a pumpkin farm and she had a blast.  We picked out pumpkins and EC pulled our wagon around loading them all up.

I will promise nothing, but hopefully I can 'try' to do at least one post a month...GEEZ!

Happy Fall Y'all!!!!

Summertime

Busy as usual...should be our family motto or may be just mine????

In May, we went back to OKC to visit family and attend my great aunt and uncle's 65th wedding anniversary weekend!  We had a blast and of course EC loved the plane rides.
On Friday, we went downtown to Bricktown in OKC and rode the boat in the canal.  It was such a nice evening and EC had a wonderful time.
Of course no trip to OKC is complete without a picture with a bison.  We then headed up to the panhandle and enjoyed the weekend with our family and back to Nashville it was on Monday.  It was a wonderful trip and we always wish we can stay longer to see our family.

Two weeks later went ventured up to Indiana for a family wedding.  EC was so excited to see/meet more of her cousins.  This seems to be a new thing with her and she just loves it.  Now everyone around here is her 'cousin'.  Again, we had a wonderful time visiting with some of my dad's side of the family.
We had a tired superhero on our road trip.

We returned on Saturday and then geared up for the start of our VBS at church on Sunday.  Again, life is never dull in the Warren household.  As always it was another wonderful VBS and we give God the glory for allowing us to serve in VBS another year.

I was taking pictures and in EC fashion, no was the word of the week when it came to wanting to get a decent picture of here.

Right now, we are enjoying hot and humid weather and soaking up every moment we can get outside.  We have extended our back patio and EC loves her kiddie pool (and maybe momma a little does too!)

We hope everyone else is enjoying this summertime!

WEE School Field Day

A few weeks ago, Emma Claire had field day at WEE School!  It was a beautiful day and I enjoyed being able to spend the day with her and her class (and Ms. Gina, her teacher!).  Emma Claire has enjoyed this year in WEE school and has learned so much.  I know she will miss her friends and especially Ms. Gina!  We cannot wait for school to start next year!  Emma Claire is already talking about going back to school.  I think she would be a great candidate for year round school!

Outside riding a pink bike.  Emma Claire had so much fun riding this bike and didn't even want to ride on her green tractor.
After riding and playing on the play ground we were off to draw with chalk and Ms. Gina even let the little ones draw a chalk outline of her.
Bubbles were the final and ultimate play especially with Emma Claire.  She will play hours with bubbles.  We will have a blast outside with the bubble machine this summer!

Easter

We had a wonderful Easter weekend.  Friday Mom and Dad came up and stayed the night and we got up early to head to our church for our annual Easter egg hunt.  Emma Claire had a fun time with her friend Paige 'crafting', but when it came to the actual Easter egg hunt, that was a whole other story.  She ended up picking up a few eggs, but it was a monumental breakdown (probably from lack of sleep, no nap and getting up early) so we gathered up a few goodies and headed back home.  Emma Claire ended up taking a 5 hour nap that day and was in a much better mood for our evening at home together.  We stayed in and played, had bath time, got our Easter outfits out and organized everything we needed for church and lunch the next day.

On  Sunday, we headed to church and it was a wonderful service which ended with my brother-in-law, announcing his call to preach.
Matt, Emma Claire and I in our Easter outfits

My mom came up Sunday morning (since they go to church on Saturday night) and prepared lunch so when we all came home, it was ready.  Both of our parents, Matt's gandmother and his brother Jake all had a wonderful Easter lunch together.

Emma Claire loved her goodies from the special friend (if you mentioned Easter bunny she would flip out).  We don't go all out and since she doesn't like or eat candy, her basket had colored goldfish and animal crackers.  She was thrilled with sticker book and bubbles.  I love how the small things in life make her the happiest.  This makes for one happy momma too!

We hope everyone had a wonderful Easter as well and remember the reason we can celebrate because HE gave HIS life for us.  We are so undeserving of his love and compassion, but what a great honor and privilege we have to serve HIM and to be a part of his eternal kingdom.

Bubbles and Eggs and Weather OH MY

We had a wonderful weekend of spring-like weather on Friday and Saturday.  Emma Claire and I played outside Saturday until our friends came over for dinner and we have a wonderful evening of playing inside, eating and enjoying our company.
Emma Claire enjoying the bubbles on Saturday outside

Since her WEE school is out next week for Spring Break, they had their Easter Egg hunt Tuesday at school.  I was able to go and she had a blast.  Of course, she does not eat candy, but she loved running after and capturing the eggs.  She was so happy to get eggs in her basket!  I cannot wait until our next hunt at church Easter weekend.  I know she will have a ball.
Waiting for the doors to open to the gym for her and her classmates to start running after the eggs!
Getting as many eggs as she can.  She kept telling me she wanted only eight but I'm sure y'all figured out by now it was way more than eight which wound up in her basket.

My Valentine

Emma Claire was so excited a few weeks ago when we were at Target and she saw a Valentines Card for a Daddy which had pigs!!! It was a match made in her eyes.  She insisted on this pig card for Daddy.  We purchased and put it in my night stand drawer awaiting Valentine's Day to give to Daddy.  We decorated it last night and lo behold, it was the FIRST item to take care of this AM before going to school.  She loved her card from us as well as her goodies from her Nana and Papa.  She will see her other Nana and Pa tonight and I know she will be equally excited (shhh...It's Minnie Jammies)

I went and had lunch for her Valentine's Day party (of course no pictures) and she was so excited when I got there!  We had a fun time eating and playing with her friends and teacher Ms. Gina.  She came home and conked out for her afternoon nap.

Hope everyone else has a wonderful Valentine' Day.  Matt and I do not typically celebrate holidays, but with a little one it's so much fun to work with them on crafting and making treats for each one of us.  Have a WONDERFUL day!

My Name is Emma

Last weekend my parents stayed the night and Dad was playing upstairs with Emma Claire and he asked her in Spanish what her name is and she replied, Emma.  We thought it might have been a fluke, but we kept asking her over and over again and she kept saying 'Emma'.  So I caught her on video last night before we went to bed so I had actual documentation.

She is one smart cookie for sure and I guess some of the Spanish she learns at WEE school is sinking in.

Birthday Celebrations

We tend to not do huge birthday extravaganzas around here so I made a big batch of homemade vegetable beef soup and sandwiches, ordered cupcakes from The Cupcake Collection and of course Emma Claire had her own container of Blue Bell Homemade Vanilla Ice Cream, her fave!

We ate lunch and let Emma Claire open up her presents.  She loved just opening the cards the best, they were Minnie Mouse and played music, double bonus!

Since her birthday fell on Thursday and she goes to WEE school, we sent individual ice cream cups with her to school and little treat presents for her to pass out to her friends.  I think they all enjoyed themselves, don't you think?

Spunky 3 Year Old

I cannot believe Emma Claire is now 3!  She is such a wonderful, spunky, sometimes sassy (like her Daddy), loving, happy three year old.  I love the times when she wants to snuggle and read books and seeing her independence on wanting to try to do things by herself.  Even during the times she is testing Mommy and Daddy she brings us great joy are we are blessed to be her parents.  We did not expect to have a winter baby, but it was in God's hands and plan and we continue to rejoice in Him.
